JOIN US this SEPTEMBER 30th on the National Truth and Reconcilation Day to help honour and remember our little ancestors who never made it home. We also hold space for the who did and this is why we will raise funds for Orangeshirtday.org, Bear Clan Patrol YEG and Indigenous Youth Sports Scholorships

The course will head through the beautiful YEG river valley trails groomed trails, a fast and easy course for every ability to enjoy. A combination of wide track trail and some pavement

Kids Race: 2.15km
5km: Run & Walk
10km Run & Walk
Get the kids involved with an easy 2.15km race! They will start the race first at 3:30 p.m.
Cost to enroll is just $17 and comes with a custom orange t-shirt, custom wood medal and swag bag!
The 5km run & walk will start from the Huskey House parking lot at 4:05pm.
Cost to enroll is just $37 and comes with custom orange shirt, custom wood medal and swag bag!
The 10km run & walk will start from the Huskey House parking lot at 4:00pm.
Cost to enroll is just $52 and comes with custom orange shirt, custom wood medal and swag bag!
ABOUT THE ORGANIZERS


ANITA R. CARDINAL
Anita Cardinal-Stewart is Nêhiyaw (Cree) and a member of Woodland Cree First Nation situated on Treaty 8 Territory but currently lives in Edmonton, Alberta with her family. Anita is also an ultra trail runner, a wife, mother to 3 sons and kokum to 4-year-old Niko - and on her way to becoming a lawyer as a Student-at-Law at Cooper Regel LLP in Sherwood Park where she aims to work towards justice for Indigenous peoples. She is the former President of the Indigenous Law Students Association at the University of Alberta and served as President of the National Indigenous Law Students Association and currently sits as the Student Representative on the Indigenous Bar Association and is the Race Director for Every Child Matters Run/Walk
VERONICA MCRAE
Veronica McRae is Cree Metis, a proud momma to four beautiful daughters and wife to her dreamy husband. She holds a Bachelor of Business Admin degree with a major in Accounting - the first in her family to gain a degree! My dream one day is a Masters, but first home renovations! After spending 17 years in the accounting world, Veronica had the opportunity to work on community engagement with Indigenous organizations. She is passionate about coming alongside others to learn what their goals and needs are. Then, discover ways to strengthen what they're doing through connecting relationships and resources. Working with Anita on the Orange Shirt Day Run/Walk as co-organizer in fundraising and promotion is the perfect fit!
